MEET MERI

the heart behind the camera

WHY I STARTED

I have always been drawn to photographs because of what they allow us to keep. Long before this became my work, I was the girl chasing people around with a camera, wanting to hold onto the moments that felt meaningful even then. Over time, that instinct only grew stronger. And after becoming a mother, I understood it in an entirely new way. Family life has a way of moving slowly and quickly all at once. The days are full, the seasons shift, and somehow the little things you think you’ll never forget begin to change before you’re ready. That is why this work matters to me. Photography gives families a way to stay connected to the feeling of a season—not just how it looked, but how it felt to be in it.

HOW I WORK

My approach is calm, thoughtful, and gently guided. You don’t need to perform or have everything perfectly together. I bring patience, flexibility, and care to every session, especially when little ones are involved. Real family life comes with movement, curiosity, laughter, and unpredictability. I welcome all of it.

what i keep learning

THE BEST MOMENTS ARE RARELY PlANNED

The photographs families treasure most are often the ones they never expected. A hand reaching for yours. A burst of laughter. The way your child looks at you when they think no one is watching. Time and again, this work reminds me that the moments we remember most are often the ones that happen in between everything else.

CHILDHOOD CHANGES QUICKLY

One day they’re asking you to carry them everywhere. Before long they’re running ahead. The little things that feel ordinary today often become the moments we miss most. That’s why I believe they deserve to be documented.

PHOTOGRAPHS GROW MORE VALUABLE WITH TIME

When a photograph is first taken, it’s easy to focus on how it looks. Years later, what matters most is how it makes you feel. The images that seem ordinary today often become the ones we treasure most because they remind us of people, relationships, and seasons of life that can never be repeated.

I’D LOVE TO MEET YOU

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me and the heart behind this work. It would be an honor to help document this season of your family’s story and create photographs you’ll treasure for years to come.
